A hooded headband made from leather, with an iron plate attached to the forehead area in order to protect the wearer from blade attacks. The iron plate is painted with black lacquer to keep it concealed in the dark. This type of apparel was worn by the highest—ranking ninjas ("Jonin") in the Iga province's ninja clan. High—ranking ninjas gave orders to and supervised low—ranking ninjas, meaning they had little opportunity to carry out missions themselves.
Upper body armour consisting of small iron scales bound together with black thread and worn underneath a black joi. Though slightly heavier than chainmail, it is able to protect the wearer against bullets as well as blades.
Gauntlets designed to protect the entire arm and hand. They are made from several long, thin plates sewn onto the top of small chains. Though slightly heavy, they can deflect bladed attacks from the side. However, the fingers remain exposed so the wearer can wield their equipment effectively.
Waist and thigh protection consisting of numerous small chains worn below black traditional pants, which are wide—cut to give the wearer greater mobility.
Greaves made from leather and iron plates that have been cut into a tubular shape, and tied together. Despite being heavy, they equal samurai armour in their defensive strength.
